01 Description, applications & specifications
Description
0.5 M EDTA Solution, pH 8.0 is a concentrated chelating solution for molecular biology, biochemistry and cell culture applications.
EDTA binds metal ions such as calcium, magnesium and iron, helping inhibit metal-dependent nucleases and enzymatic reactions. The solution can be diluted for preparing TE, TAE, TBE and other laboratory buffers.
Key Features: 0.5 M EDTA concentration • Pre-adjusted to pH 8.0 • Ready-to-use stock solution • Chelates divalent and trivalent metal ions • Helps inhibit nuclease activity • Supports nucleic acid preservation • Suitable for molecular biology and cell culture
Applications: TE Buffer Preparation • TAE Buffer Preparation • TBE Buffer Preparation • Nuclease Inhibition • DNA and RNA Storage • Nucleic Acid Purification • Metal-Dependent Enzyme Inhibition • Cell Dissociation • Molecular Biology Research
Compatibility: Suitable for preparing Tris-EDTA and electrophoresis buffers and for applications requiring metal-ion chelation. EDTA may inhibit enzymes or assays requiring magnesium, calcium or other divalent metal ions.
Use: Supplied as a 0.5 M stock solution. Dilute with suitable laboratory-grade water or add to buffer formulations according to the required final EDTA concentration.
Packaging: Available as ML014-100ML, ML014-500ML and ML014-2X500ML.
Manufacturer: HiMedia Laboratories
