01 Description, applications & specifications
Description
1X TE Buffer, pH 8.0 is a ready-to-use Tris-EDTA solution for dissolving, eluting, diluting and storing DNA and RNA.
Tris maintains a stable pH, while EDTA chelates divalent metal ions required for nuclease activity. This helps protect nucleic acids from degradation during handling and storage.
Key Features: Ready-to-use 1X solution • 10 mM Tris and 1 mM EDTA • pH 8.0 • Protects DNA and RNA against nuclease degradation • Clear, colourless solution • DNase and RNase activity not detected • Sterility tested • 48-month shelf life
Applications: DNA Storage • RNA Storage • DNA Solubilisation • Nucleic Acid Elution • DNA and RNA Dilution • Plasmid DNA Storage • Genomic DNA Storage • Molecular Biology Research
Compatibility: Suitable for storing genomic DNA, plasmid DNA and RNA. Because EDTA chelates magnesium and other divalent ions, it may inhibit downstream magnesium-dependent enzymes when used at a high proportion of the final reaction volume.
Use: Supplied at the working concentration and does not require dilution. Use directly for dissolving, eluting, diluting or storing nucleic acids.
Packaging: Available as ML060-100ML and ML060-500ML.
Manufacturer: HiMedia Laboratories
