Description

50X TAE Buffer is a concentrated Tris-acetate-EDTA running buffer for agarose gel electrophoresis of DNA and other nucleic acids.

Dilute the solution 1:50 with molecular biology-grade water to prepare 1X TAE. TAE supports relatively fast migration of linear double-stranded DNA and is particularly suitable for routine, low-voltage electrophoresis.

Compatibility: Suitable for horizontal agarose gel electrophoresis systems. TAE has a lower buffering capacity than TBE and may require buffer replacement or recirculation during extended or high-current electrophoresis runs.

Preparation: To prepare 1 L of 1X TAE, combine 20 mL of 50X TAE Buffer with 980 mL of molecular biology-grade water. To prepare 500 mL, combine 10 mL of 50X TAE with 490 mL of water.

Packaging: Available as ML016-100ML, ML016-500ML and ML016-2X500ML.
