Description
SMOChem™ dUTP Solution – Sodium Salt (100 mM), 100 mL is an ultrapure solution of 2′-deoxyuridine-5′-triphosphate supplied as the sodium salt in purified water. It is manufactured by SMOBIO Technology for PCR, RT-PCR and other molecular biology applications requiring a reliable source of dUTP.
dUTP can be incorporated into amplification products in place of dTTP. This enables the use of uracil-DNA glycosylase, also known as UNG or UDG, to degrade uracil-containing products from previous reactions before amplification begins. The dUTP/UNG system helps reduce false-positive results caused by carryover contamination while leaving natural thymine-containing DNA templates unaffected.
The solution has a nominal concentration of 100 mM, with a manufacturer specification of 100–110 mM. It is supplied in purified water at pH 8.5 ± 0.1 and has a purity of at least 99% as confirmed by HPLC.
The product is tested for protease, DNase, RNase and nicking activity. It is also tested for contamination with human DNA using an 18S rRNA target and bacterial DNA using a 23S rRNA target.

Formulation: 2′-Deoxyuridine-5′-triphosphate sodium salt at 100 mM in purified water, pH 8.5 ± 0.1.
Storage: Store at −20°C. The manufacturer states a shelf life of 36 months under the recommended storage conditions. To maintain product integrity, use appropriate aliquoting practices where repeated access or freeze–thaw cycles are expected.

Note: Substitution of dTTP with dUTP may affect amplification efficiency depending on the polymerase and assay design. The dUTP-to-dTTP ratio, magnesium concentration and cycling conditions should be optimized for the selected PCR system.
