01 Description, applications & specifications
Description
FluoroStain™ DNA Fluorescent Staining Dye is a 10,000X green fluorescent stain designed for sensitive post-electrophoresis detection of double-stranded DNA in agarose and compatible polyacrylamide gels.
The dye detects approximately 0.04 ng DNA and can be visualised using blue-light or UV illumination. Its high dsDNA specificity produces minimal background, making destaining optional.
Key Features: 10,000X concentrated dye • Post-electrophoresis DNA staining • Sensitivity down to approximately 0.04 ng • High specificity for double-stranded DNA • Minimal background fluorescence • Green-yellow fluorescent signal • Blue-light and UV compatible • Safer alternative to ethidium bromide • Ames-tested for non-mutagenicity
Applications: Agarose-Gel Post-Staining • Double-Stranded DNA Detection • DNA Fragment Visualisation • PCR Product Analysis • Restriction-Digest Analysis • Gel Extraction Workflows • DNA Cloning Workflows • Polyacrylamide-Gel DNA Staining • Molecular Biology Research
Compatibility: Recommended for post-staining agarose gels using water, TE, TAE or TBE as the staining medium. Blue-light illumination at approximately 480–490 nm is preferred, although UV illumination may also be used.
Packaging: One 500 µL tube of FluoroStain™ DNA Fluorescent Staining Dye supplied at 10,000X concentration.
Manufacturer: SMOBIO Technology
