01 Description, applications & specifications
Description
FluoroStain™ Protein Fluorescent Staining Dye is a red fluorescent stain for sensitive protein detection in polyacrylamide gels. The 1,000X concentrate offers detection sensitivity of approximately 3 ng and provides an alternative to conventional Coomassie Blue and silver-staining methods.
The dye binds proteins with high specificity and has low affinity for polyacrylamide gel, making destaining optional. Stained proteins can be visualised using blue-light or UV illumination, and the method is compatible with downstream LC-MS/MS and MALDI-TOF analysis.
Key Features: Red fluorescent protein stain • 1,000X concentrate • Approximately 3 ng detection sensitivity • Low gel background • Optional destaining • Blue-light and UV excitation • Compatible with mass spectrometry • Suitable for SDS-PAGE and 2D gels • Five individually packaged vials
Applications: SDS-PAGE Protein Staining • 2D Gel Staining • Protein Detection • Protein Gel Imaging • Proteomics • LC-MS/MS Sample Preparation • MALDI-TOF Analysis • Protein Expression Analysis
Compatibility: Suitable for polyacrylamide protein gels, including SDS-PAGE and 2D gels. Compatible with blue-light and UV illuminators, argon-laser scanners and mercury-arc lamp excitation systems. Stained gels are suitable for subsequent mass-spectrometry analysis but are not recommended for Western blot transfer.
Packaging: Five vials containing 1 mL each of 1,000X concentrated staining dye; 5 mL total.
Manufacturer: SMOBIO Technology
