Description

i-StarTaq™ DNA Polymerase with Buffer, dNTPs is a chemically mediated Hot-Start Taq DNA Polymerase from iNtRON Biotechnology. The enzyme is designed to remain inactive at lower temperatures and become activated during the high-temperature stage of PCR, helping minimize premature primer extension, primer-dimer formation and nonspecific amplification.

Its Hot-Start performance supports PCR amplification with improved specificity, sensitivity and reproducibility, particularly when working with difficult primer-template combinations. The enzyme is suitable for amplification of genomic DNA and cDNA targets up to 5 kb, as well as templates containing GC-rich regions or secondary structures.

The enzyme is supplied at a concentration of 5 U/µL together with 10X PCR Buffer containing Mg²⁺, 10X Mg²⁺-free PCR Buffer, dNTP mixture and a separate MgCl₂ solution. The two buffer options and separate magnesium solution allow reaction conditions to be optimized for different templates and primer sets.
