Description
Q-PAGE™ Bis-Tris Precast Gel – Mini, 15 Wells, 4–12%, 10 Gels is a ready-to-use gradient polyacrylamide gel system from SMOBIO Technology for high-resolution protein separation by SDS-PAGE using the Bis-Tris buffer system.
The optimized Bis-Tris gel formulation provides clear, sharp protein bands, improved resolution and extended storage stability compared with conventional manually prepared Laemmli Tris-HCl gels. The ready-to-use format eliminates gel casting and supports greater consistency between electrophoresis runs.
The 4–12% polyacrylamide gradient provides broad-range protein separation by incorporating progressively smaller pore sizes through the resolving gel. This allows proteins of different molecular weights to be separated within a single electrophoresis run.
The running buffer can be selected according to the protein range of interest. MOPS-SDS buffer is generally recommended for medium- to large-sized proteins, while MES-SDS buffer is commonly selected when improved separation of smaller proteins is required.
The Mini cassette measures 10 × 8.3 cm and contains a gel measuring 8.1 × 7.4 × 0.1 cm. Each gel contains 15 numbered and framed wells with a maximum recommended loading capacity of 22 µL per well. This configuration allows increased sample throughput within a compact Mini cassette.
Q-PAGE™ Bis-Tris Mini gels are designed primarily for Bio-Rad® Mini-PROTEAN® systems and other electrophoresis tanks compatible with the same Mini cassette dimensions.
Key Features: Ready-to-use Bis-Tris precast gels • 4–12% polyacrylamide gradient • Broad-range protein separation • Compact Mini cassette format • Clear and sharp protein bands • High resolution • 15 numbered and framed wells • 22 µL maximum capacity per well • Compatible with MOPS-SDS and MES-SDS running buffers • Compatible with Bio-Rad® and similar Mini systems • Suitable for protein staining and Western blotting • Stable for ambient-temperature transportation
Applications: Bis-Tris SDS-PAGE • Broad-Range Protein Separation • Protein Molecular-Weight Analysis • Protein-Purity Assessment • Recombinant Protein Analysis • Protein Expression Studies • Gel Staining • Western Blot Sample Separation • General Proteomics Research
Recommended Running Buffers: MOPS-SDS for medium- to large-sized proteins • MES-SDS for smaller proteins and faster migration. SMOBIO SMOChem™ 1X MOPS-SDS Running Buffer Powder, Cat. No. BF2000, is compatible with this gel.
Compatible Electrophoresis Systems: Bio-Rad® Mini-PROTEAN® systems • Other electrophoresis systems compatible with 10 × 8.3 cm Mini gel cassettes
Pack Contents: 10 Q-PAGE™ Bis-Tris Mini precast gels • Product-description tip card • Gel remover • Cassette opener
Storage: Store the gels flat at 4°C for up to 12 months. Do not freeze. Keep the gels in their original packaging until required for use.
Handling: Remove the cassette sealing tape and comb before electrophoresis. Rinse the wells with compatible running buffer, fill the wells with running buffer and then load the prepared samples and protein marker.
Important Compatibility Note: Do not use Tris-Glycine running buffer with Q-PAGE™ Bis-Tris Precast Gels. An incompatible running buffer can cause abnormal protein migration and poor resolution.
Research Use: Research Use Only (RUO). Not intended for diagnostic or clinical use.
Manufacturer: SMOBIO Technology, Inc.
